unwelcome in a subject?

it was my first day of yr12 yesterday, and when i received my timetable one of the options was wrong- i was put into psychology instead of chemistry. although this makes sense, because pre results day i had opted for psychology, i had changed to chemistry in the final options choice. i went to the head of sixth form, and she quickly changed me to chemistry, because i did get AA in double science. however, i’m thinking more into this- in year 10, we did unit 1 and i barely scraped a c (had a lot going on), but in yr11 i got a fairly solid a. the grade requirement for any science is BB, and biology (a*,a) was not a problem. am i thinking too far into this, and it was a simple mistake, or do the teachers believe i’m not qualified to do a level?

AA in double science speaks for itself. It was probably a mistake, your grade qualifies you to do this a level and no one can deny this. Probably a mistake, dont overthink it 👍️

Hi @saltymash,

It's very likely it was just a simple mistake. If you achieved AA in Double Science, and the grade requirements for studying any science at A-Level are BB, you're quite far above the entry requirements. Making timetables can be quite a tricky process, and it's perfectly normal for teachers to make a few errors here and there at the beginning. For example, when I joined sixth form, I was accidentally timetabled for Business Studies instead of Chemistry, even though I'd never put Business Studies down - mistakes do happen! 😁

Best of luck with your A-Level studies!
Eve (Kingston Rep).
