Would HEE funding impact my maintenance loan??

So basically i recently got accepted for dental nurse level 4 course at uni, and am looking to do dental hygiene next year, however after I got approved for my student finance loan and maintaince loan, am uni told me that am qualified for a HEE funding, am so confused because am not sure if taking this offer would impact my maintaince loan, and also would I need to inform the student finance or no.

Hi Ohoud,

This award does not affect SFE entitlement.

However, if fees are being paid by the HEE then we will change fees to zero on the application so they are not double funded.

We can do this when you initially apply if you indicated this or the university can send a Change of Circumstances to confirm that you are in receipt of HEE.

Thanks, Clare

I have accepted the HEE funding however my university still haven’t conformed any further details, would I need to inform the SFE that I wouldn’t be needing the student loan or should I wait.

Hi there,

So what funding are you getting from the HEE funding? Do you still want funding from Student Finance?

Thanks, Drew

Am getting £6,500 payed directly to my course/uni, 1 year dental nurse level 4, along with £7000 for me, that I wouldn’t need to pay back as I was told.

Hi there,

If you no longer need funding from us then I would advise you log into your online account and cancel your application unless you have already received a payment from us? When you check your online account what is the status of your payments?

Thanks, Drew

It shows me “Payment in progress - Your payment is on its way. It can take up to three working days for it to show in your bank account”

Hi there,

What is your payment date as it probably to late for us to now stop this payment. You will need to ask the university to send us a Change of Circumstances withdrawal for non attendance so we can stop your full application. You can then also payback the Maintenance Loan once you received it.

Thanks, Drew

Hi there. You don't need to wait. If you have been paid you can contact the repayments department and pay it back now. Thanks, Leah.
