Question above, are they mandatory?

Hi @deepwoken2, I hope all is well.

Essentially, attendance is expected for all taught content sessions, both lectures and seminars - but the approach and content will differ greatly by course. I would recommend getting in touch with the relevant Faculty Support Team if you need advice on attendance and pros/cons of seminar and group sessions for your specific course...if you're joining us in September, these links will hopefully be useful...

Seminars are usually smaller sized sessions that follow a main lecture on a specific subject or topic - it's supposed to help you consolidate and digest what you cover in the lecture theatre, so it can be super useful for debating issues and critical discussions, as well as asking questions about what you're not sure about. You'll also get to work more closely with your classmates.

If you need any further advice or support, please let us know. Best of luck with everything! Gethin (Future Students Team).
