Your first step would to establish which "size" of BTEC you're doing in Applied Science. The size is defined by the full name of the qualification - Certificate, Extended Certificate, Foundation Diploma, Diploma, or Extended Diploma.

The you can look-up the mandatory modules within that particular sized BTEC in the specification (see below), and read what you will learn and how you'll be assessed. For the optional modules, your school / college will likely pick what they teach you, so you'll need to wait until you know what optional modules you'll be doing.

The specification for the Extended Diploma is here, although it also covers the smaller BTECs too.
