gap year or accept uni place??

hey was wondering if anyone has been or is in a similar position to me and what you did/plan to do. I missed my durham offer and declined my firm, began prepping for gap year and where I would like to apply 2025 entrance as I didn't think my regrade would go through and I would be getting it back after the deadline for definite entrance 2024. well, I got my appeal back which was successful and they are now offering me entrance for this year. im not sure if I should take it or ask for it to be deferred to next year. I feel slightly messed around by them and want to take time to be sure that is were I want to go but at the same time I was focused on going there hence declining my insurance. worth adding here I really did not want to take a gap year going into this process. just wondering if anyone has been or knows someone in a similar position

The missing of the Durham offer and the regrade, unfortunately its a bit of messing about and to-in and fro-ing from the school, uni, exam board, and ucas. As you say its worth adding you did not want to take a gap year, so you kind of answered your own question there 🙂 . Gap years can be good, but you have to make it worth your while. My daughter is just finishing hers now. She had to keep on top of keeping her mind fresh on her biology alevel. She also has had a couple of job and earning money which will come to good use im sure.
