MPhil Real Estate Finance AY2025/2026 Intake

Hey guys!

Making a thread for all those interested in applying for the MPhil in REF.

If possible, please share your academic background and professional experiences to date!

I'll start, I'm an international applicant currently enrolled in a global T15 college, double majoring in real estate finance and business management. Past internship experiences span real estate investments, asset management, portfolio management, data analytics, and payment tech. Expected to graduate with high first-class honours and not planning to submit a GRE/GMAT, included a research proposal.

Hey,

BSc student from Copenhagen Business School with an exchange semester at the National University of Singapore and summer exchange at Harvard university. Exptected gpa equivalent to first class honours.

Almost 2 years part-time at MBB, 1 private equity internship, 1-year as an entrepreneur within the danish rural commercial real estate development sector. Currently on two projects valued at 30m+ DKK and 300m+ DKK. 5 years in the Danish Royal Army, currently First Lieutenant and functioning Company Commander in the Danish Army's Reserves.

Might apply with GRE, not decided yet.

Hey, I just applied recently! It still says submitted, so I'm guessing they haven't started reviewing this batch yet.

Have quite a varied background; I studied Law undergrad, worked in securities division at Goldman Sachs for over a year, then at a trading platform, then set up my own company and successfully ran it profitably for a few years.

Ready to move into a new industry now and I've always been passionate about real estate and even have my own real estate investment company (albeit with a v small portfolio).

Slightly concerned I may not fill the classic mould of applicants for the course (I've noticed they tend to hire those with econ degrees and love LSE grads. Plus they've usually graduated more recently than me), but I have a lot of practical and professional experience that I know would be valuable and hoping my different academic background can bring some diversity of ideas, so was worth a try. I am still in my 20s granted, but probably older than most applicants.

Wish everyone the best of luck.

Hey guys just a quick update on my application status.

Application submitted with references - 18th September
Under review by department - 20th September
DP - 4th November

Status still says DP at the moment, would anyone be kind enough to shed some light on whether this is a good sign?

Thanks!

From what I read on a post last year about DP, is that most were accepted.

I hope this is the case for you - please keep us updated!

Can you share your stats?

Kind regards,

Oh nice, I think you might have also commented on this thread under a different account name.

When did you submit your application, and what's your current application status? Really impressive stats by the way, I'm sure you'll make a competitive candidate!

Congratulations!! From what I’ve read, it’s almost certain that you’ll receive an offer!🥳

Yesterday, I saw an overview of when the different departments have their meetings. The Department of Land Economy had its first meeting in late October and won’t have its second meeting until mid-January. So, I don’t think those of us who submitted in early November or later will hear back before the start of February… :frown:

Should have pushed my professors a bit more for those academic references, haha!

Thanks for the kind words man.

With such outstanding academic and professional credentials, it’s only a matter of time before you get the conditional offer! 😎

Btw could I check how you managed to gain access to information regarding when DC meetings are held? Tried searching it up a few weeks ago but to no avail haha

Hi, can I know how long was your statement of interest ?
It says 500 words, but you can go up to 5000 characters which is closer to 800 words. So, I was wondering if you should stick with 500 words or use the space?

Personally I wrote around 500 words, use this as a chance to showcase your ability to write succinctly and convey information across in a structured manner.

All the best!! May I ask what your stats are?

Thanks man!!

Off the top of my head, the conditions were to graduate with a first-class honours, complete a language test administered by the English Language Centre, get a student visa, submit a photo, get assigned to a college, and provide proof of being able to finance my studies.

Did your application status change over the last couple days?
