A level choices: Is English Lit manageable as a 4th and what is the workload for 4 li

Hi everyone, I start tomorrow and my current A level choices are Maths, Chemistry, Biology and English Language. I'm considering a switch from.Lang to Lit though and I'm wondering what the Lit workload is like, whether it's more enjoyable than lang and what the workload for 4 A levels is like generally. Thanks!
I don't know, sorry.

Interesting pic...😂
Why are you taking 4 A levels?
And do you have the option to drop 1 subject at the end of Year 12?

I'm taking 4 because I'm keen to.do a humanity because I enjoy then but I'm probably (though not definitely) doing something STEM-ish at uni, hence bio chem maths. I can drop end of year 12 or in the 3 week cooling off period at the start.
Eng Lit involves far more work than Eng Lang - "now read Romeo and Juliet / that novel / that entire book of poetry again and .....".

Is there a lot of work apart from reading and the NEA? I assume there's essay practice and you obviously have to revise but how much of that are you doing and how many hours a week roughly?

I've budgeted 20hrs a week without my frees which I could then fill to minimise work at home or use to supplement work at home and there are more hours at home I could make use of during exam season.
If you liked English literature GCSE, you could probably manage it. But if It gets too much, you could always drop it

Yeah dropping one is defo.an option. I've switched to.Lit now on the recommendation of my teacher and I also figure if I love lit I can drop.a science and still do 3 well respected A levels
