Cifas Expiry Date 3 Years?
Hi, I have a Cifas marker and have had it since 2023. I have done two different DSAR checks one in December 2023 and one in July 2024. On the most recent DSAR it say’s that my marker expires in 2026 rather than 2029 which is the full 6 years, does anyone know if this is a mistake in the system or intentional? Rather than 6 years do I only have to wait 3?

Depends on the type of Marker. They can last up to 6 years.

You’d have to ask CIFAS about the discrepancy.

I got mine this year October and it says it expires 2026 as well

What type of marker did you have

I believe they've changed it so that under 21s only have the fraud by facilitation (e.g. money mule) marker for 3 years, not 6 years. I guess CIFAS realised that it was destroying so many young lives that they decided to shorten it.

You need to make a subject access request:
https://www.cifas.org.uk/dsar
It will include any relevant dates.

In that case you need to speak to a CIFAS advisor here.

I got my cifas for misuse of facility in November 2023 when I was 16 and expiry says November 2025 so I guess it’s age dependent?
