declined clearing due to applying previously

hi all, i just got declined from a course through clearing because i had applied to it and didn’t get in before hand? I applied for illustration but didn’t get in and was made to do ANOTHER foundation year which I really don’t want to do (obviously) so i applied through clearing, i did the whole process and last minute the uni admissions changed their mind and said because I had applied before and was unsuccessful i can’t apply again? and that the course leader wouldn’t look at my portfolio again?? Is this normal it seems really unfair and i’m upset.

Did you meet the clearing requirements, and did you call them to get a verbal offer beforehand?

yes, i am over qualified for the course and i was literally about to send off my portfolio when the admissions sent me an email saying i can’t apply. I haven’t called them yet but I will tomorrow to see what’s going on

If they rejected you last time because of your portfolio, then why were you surprised when they rejected you for a second time - with exactly the same portfolio?
