The battle against A Levels.. will one measly brain succeed...

Hey, I'm new to tsr but I've seen some people make grow your grade blogs, and I've thought that it might help motivate me to keep on top of studying. I just started school, and am planning to update this once a week while I'm in year 12, and then possibly more as revision ramps up.

First week update:
Today is the 8th of September, and technically I only really had 2 days of school, so I haven't really done much. I signed up to the COMPOS oxford course, and the assignments are really difficult, but hopefully I can complete enough correctly to get into the course. The start of school has overall been fine, although I'm kinda scared for physics because they made it sound really scary lol. Anyway I haven't had any homework so mostly been working through compos + have to learn ions for chem (ig this is homework but not really). Idk whether anyone can help me on this, but why does my laptop feel so heavy? I've been carrying basically only it in my bag and it's REALLY heavy, to the extent that my back hurts carrying it sometimes... It's only 2kg so idk why it feels like this...

I took the same subjects as you back in the day (though probably with completely different exam boards) and may be able to give you some resource recommendations.

Good luck and I hope sixth form proves to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

What a coincidence - I happen to have just written a post guiding someone else on what resources to use for AQA chemistry

Secondly, PMT and MME will be useful for all four of your subjects:

https://mmerevise.co.uk

I did OCR B physics, whilst I presume you do OCR A (since it is the much better and much more common of the two syllabi). For OCR A physics, Zphysics, physics online and Elite Tutelage should all offer resources of considerable use:

Edexcel maths and further maths have plenty of excellent resources. I did both, taking FP1, FS1 and FM1 as my optional papers for further maths (note that this isn’t terribly normal and most candidates only study the content for two optional papers). R2Drew2, Tayyub Majeed, ExamSolutions, AMSP, MathsGenie and Bicen Maths are all excellent:

As above, good luck and enjoy your studies!

Thank you so much, all of this looks really good! I'm assuming our school does OCR A physics, thank you so much for that as well! This should all be very helpful

Week 2 update:
Sorry this is a bit late, but here goes:
compos maths is going ok, but physics is going really mid... I'm not really sure how to improve though. For school, double maths every day is quite a heavy workload, but I don't mind it too much currently- I'm not as bored in lessons anymore. I did all of the homework a few days early, and it was all fine- basically nothing is really problematic at school. I do a lot of sports outside of school, mainly kickboxing, and I feel like I don't really have enough time to do it as much if I want to do extra work ourside of school per subject. I also kinda miss art and german, as those were my "fun" subjects- but they aren't useful at all for uni so I'm not taking them.
Mood for the week: 8/10
