Retake year

At my university it requires you to have pretty serious mitigating circumstances in order to retake a year, where I’ve heard at other unis you can retake a year if you fail.
I’ve just finished second year with one failed module because unfortunately in my resit I was flagged for plagiarism, in the hearing they came to the conclusion that it was academic malpractice but because of my MC they would allow me to re submit the coursework without a capped grade.
As great as this is, unfortunately I haven’t done the best in all my other modules this year because of my personal situation. Over Christmas, my dad had to leave his job due to health circumstances and it meant that I had to start working full time in order to pay for the things that he had previously paid for (rent not covered by maintenance loan, food shop, transportation and other necessities). Because of the amount of work I was doing both at uni and my full time job, I was diagnosed with a depressive anxiety disorder and put on anti depressants. I sent in a form of exceptional circumstances with all the evidence to prove the above point and mentioned my desire to be considered to retake the year, since I do not currently have a passable or condonable grade.
Do you guys think these circumstances are mitigating enough or am I just going to have to move on to third year with the current grade I have (a low 2:2)

Hi,

Perhaps you can speak to someone at university who is better equipped to answer your mitigating circumstances.

You can submit your mitigating circumstances.

You most likely will require a medical/doctor's note and other evidence.
