put on a nice chill album that you like when you begin
•
have a good drink (hot chocolate, latte etc) that you like on hand, along with a bottle of water.
•
if you have mac/an ipad, there's an app called portal that lets you choose a nature scene from anywhere in the world (beach at st lucia? rainforest in costa rica?) to have on while you study. each month they give free users 3 backgrounds, complete with audio. i recommend this app, the spatial audio along with the backgrounds help me to focus better.
•
reward yourself, even if you only did 15 minutes of revision that day. i treat myself to an episode of my favourite show every day in the evening 😛
•
when i open my laptop, i have it so on my chrome work profile a maths website and PhysicsAndMathsTutor open automatically. this saves me having to think about what to do and getting distracted. lmk if you have chrome and want to know how to do this.
•
to control my screentime so i don't get distracted while studying i use an app called screenzen (iphone+mac). now i don't get sidetracked bc i can't access instagram/snapchat etc.
•
i use an app called anki to schedule my flashcards that i made on the app. it's like my little PA! i'd recommend it for the spaced repetition. anki's available on most computers. it seems difficult to use at first though, so quizlet is also a good alternative (stay consistent!)

when you're having a lazy day, don't beat yourself up. even studying in bed is fine, listening to songs with lyrics and other unconventional things are good, as long as they help you. when you're feeling tired or exhausted, make your to-do list small and don't penalise yourself! the main message is to take care.
•
one more thing, sometimes studying is made easier when we take good care of ourselves, our psyche and our body. go for a walk when the weather is nice, open windows, drink water plentifully every day, don't skip any meals and make sure you take your vitamins! as the winter approaches, it's easy to get sick or feel fatigued, so maximising your health will make your revision and yourself better in the long run.
