Unite Students City Switch

Hi. I currently have a place at a university and will be moving into my Unite Students accommodation next week as a first-year undergraduate.

I was having a few doubts about the course and I received a verbal offer from another uni recently, subject to me declining my place at my soon-to-be current uni.

The problem I’ve had is that I believed I would be able to use Unite Student’s “City Switch” option as advertised on their website (this would mean I could transfer my tenancy to another building in the city of the other university who gave me the verbal offer). However, after trying to get clarification on this I’ve now been told that as my soon to be current Unite Student accommodation is a “Partnership Hall” (you can only book a room there via the uni’s accommodation portal, as oppose to directly through Unite) I am not eligible for a “City Switch”.

I’ve been trying to find out my position for a while now, hence why it’s dragged on to the point where uni starts soon.

Has anyone used the “City Switch” option with Unite? Also has anyone else been in the same position?

Hi, I'm currently trying to switch Unis to a different city and have the same problem, I've contacted both my uni and unite and they havn't given me a solid answer. Were you able to transfer at all?
