How can I find my flatmates?

I’m going to be living in Glen Eyre, in Block B of Hartley Grove, and I’m on the lookout for flatmates. I’ve joined several platforms like Unifi, WhatsApp groups, and Unibuddy, and I’ve even found a spreadsheet with around 300 residents from Glen Eyre. However, I’ve only identified seven people in Block B, and I’m hoping to connect with others on my floor or even in my flat.If anyone has any tips or advice on how to find flatmates more effectively, I would really appreciate it! Have you had any success with finding flatmates in Glen Eyre or similar accommodations? Any suggestions on how to reach out or connect with others would be incredibly helpful.Thanks in advance for your help!

I totally get where you are coming from - I remember being so excited (and nervous) to meet my flatmates last year! I would say that the University Halls Unibuddy community is a good place to find some of your flatmates. However, most students generally meet their flatmates on the move-in day, as many people are not on the groups. I personally met most of my flatmates on the move in day itself aswell - and trust me, you will get plenty of opportunities to spend time with your flatmates and get to know them! It is also always easier to interact with people in real life compared to over text.

Glen Eyre is a very lively place, and there is always something going on! You will naturally end up meeting people from your flat and nearby blocks. I found the weekly halls events, called Res Life, to be a great place to meet new people and make friends! They organise fun events like free pizza and doughnut nights, halls fairs, game nights and so many other activities.

Also, when you move-in, don't hesitate to take the initiative to interact with your flatmates. You'll find that most students are keen to make friends and settle in!
