Driving test

Not sure if this is a stupid question but…
Does the examiner tell you what exit to go on the roundabout, for example (right, 4th exit) or would they just say (right, towards …). I know with the satnav it tells you but with the signs you have to work it out but I wondered if you also have to work it out when they’re giving you instructions? If anyone has any ways of being able to work it out quickly when you approach a roundabout pls help.

The examiner will act like a sat nav. They will ask you to go to that place. You will need to decide which direction and which lane to be in. If you make a wrong turning they will say carry on or change where you need to go instead.

Were there is any ambiguity the examiner will tell you which exit to take either by giving the number, or saying something like - "At the roundabout turn right, it's signposted city centre." If you're not sure which exit just ask, the examiner will normally help with navigation where possible. (I used be one) :-)
