Any tips for GCSE german?

Im taking GCSE German and I want to do it at sixth form, but I’m not quite there yet. I need a grade 5 and im at a 4 at the moment. Id like to get a 6 just to be absolutley safe though. I would really appreciate any tips anyone may have for it?

Watch German TV shows, speak German as much as you can to get used to it, don't just do the bare minimum in terms of vocabulary. Enjoy it

Hi, I did gcse German last year. Honestly, German was probably one of my hardest subjects but I ended up getting an 8. My biggest tip would probably be focus on speaking and writing . What I did was my teacher gave us 50 speaking questions and I wrote answers for each of them according to what the mark scheme said- the mark scheme tells you what kind of vocab and tenses to use etc. i then familiarized my self with them and practiced a lot particularly near my speaking exam with friends and teachers ( this helps with pronunciation and stuff) . I also used the same answers that I wrote for my speaking in my writing as the questions for my speaking and writing were somewhat similar and I obviously did paraphrase and change some parts but for me the questions for my speaking and writing were really similar. I also wrote out model answers for the writing which really helped and I also got this marked by my teacher. For reading it’s mainly just practice. I used Quizlet to practice my vocab ( my teacher already made the sets for us) and I practiced this daily- remember to start this early as there is a LOT of vocab to learn do 5 or 10 a day until ur actual gcse and trust me it’ll go a long way. I also did a bunch of exam papers which really helped. For listening I also mainly practiced with exam questions and past papers but a lot of my friends watched German tv shows and movies which helped them. Make sure your grammar and tenses are moderately good as well- I recommend making model sentences with specific/ complex tenses to impress the examiner in the writing. I hope this helps! ( sorry about how long this is)
