TMUA in October or January for Imperial Compsci

I want to apply for Computer Science at Imperial and it requires me to take the TMUA, I am not applying to Oxbridge so do not have to take the TMUA in October,

Currently, I'm scoring around a 6 in TMUA but if I practice more till January I can hopefully be around a >7,

Imperial's website says they encourage us to apply in October as they can process our application, but after emailing their admissions office they say it does not matter.

I am confused which sitting to pick to make sure I have the best chance,

They recommend the October sitting because they have less spaces available for those who take the January sitting since they would already be giving out offers at that point. I would take the October sitting if you can
