Starting Year 11

Hi,
I’ve just started Year 11 and I’m a little stressed. I haven’t got many revision resources made yet and I’m looking to make some ready for November-ish time but Im not sure what would be most effective. I found some Anki Flashcards for Sciences but most of them don’t cover all the topics or paper 2 etc. My exam board for science is OCR Gateway A and I’m studying triple science. Can someone help me find some Flashcards for this? Thank you! Also, would it be better for me to also make mind maps for science topics? For geography, I’m not sure what revision resources to do, maybe a revision clock? For Business, I think Mindmaps work best. For English, mind maps work well too. And I’m not sure what to do for Drama and French.
Please help! Any advice to make me feel a bit better would be appreciated!

Hey, I havn't taken my exams yet (feeling stressed like you are tbh), but I have a friend who got top grades in all of hers and she says revising with past papers is amazing. She said you learn what exam boards are looking for, how to answer questions and you can figure out what you need to work on. Also apparently they practically put the basic same stuff most years or ask similar questions. Flashcards and active recall is supposed to work really well too, hope this helps  I think us year 11 are all feeling stressed to some degree so you're not alone, do your best and that's all that matters
YES! To reiterate what abi has said (I'm an Abi too so that felt weird. Sorry), PAST PAPERS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND. You practice how to write questions, get an understanding of how they're marked, and can also help you ensure you don't run out of time in the real exams. Have a little play around with different methods - you said you wanted to start properly in November- so you have a month or two to figure out what is best.

Memrise and Quizlet are good for languages - your school may have courses on there or you could make your own. For the french, ask family/friends to practice asking you questions or simulating situations with you (I think there's a conversation bit in the speaking test). Mindmap or split up your description words for photo cards (also in the speaking). Listen to shows, films or music in french so you get more familiar hearing it.

There may also be some revision resources on TSR

I haven't done any of your subjects but my sister did AQA french (and got a 9) and this is what she recommended.

Hope this helps

Thank you, this is solid advice and it’s made me feel a lot better knowing I’m not alone. Sending a big hug your way ❤️

Thank you! I’ve started using Anki to make flashcards for my sciences and I’m hoping to get all content on there by the end of this month so I can start revising for mocks. I think I might do the same for geography and Business but not too sure yet. I’ve just checked out Memrise on there and the courses are perfect, exactly what I’m looking for! Thank you❤️

Don't stress out. Reading what you've said makes me think you're in a rush and you're not that calm about GCSEs. If you're feeling the pressure then I'll give you some advice that I don't think many secondary school students get-it doesn't really matter what grades you get at GCSE really. In most cases you can be anything you want to be so long as you work hard. Yes, grades can make it easier for you to get where you want to go and attend certain colleges and universities, but I think the education system is designed to make children and teenagers insecure because they start worrying and stressing over getting things right in a timed test. Life isn't about taking written exams in a room, it's about exploring who you are and finding what you want to be. You may not understand now, but when you get to your mid-late 20s you'll probably realize how much unnecessary stress is put on children/teenagers to succeed in school-just so you can all be bunged into obedient jobs that do nothing more but serve what this culture has established.
