Watch YouTubers go through their thought process on questions to see how you should answer them, expose yourself to more non fic text to get yourself used to the style of writing expected/ to help you add info to your written non fic piece. Try nail down a story you can fit into any title from now which is guaranteed to get you at least 35/40. Let me know if you need any help on this. Best wishes!

I would suggest:
Planning answers to questions or answering questionsand marking against the mark scheme
Watching YouTube videos on analysis
Reading the news or a book because the more you read the better!
Doing some blookets on different groups of techniques (like structure, language etc)
Reading through and doing the activities on bbc Bitesize
Hope this helps 🙂

I would look over how the structure works again and Language tends to be hard due to the creative writing. I did a mock paper 1 language last year and our teacher went through with us:
Find and Retrieve: This is very simple!
Within lines x and y answer these questions: ALWAYS use the extract the examiners are always trying to catch you out so not the whole text just the extract they want you to look at.
How does the writer use x in this extract? You may use the whole extract. : Its simple, its your own judgement on how the subject terminology works, the form of it, the tone etc. In addition to this you can actually use it in the Evaluate question lol!
Creative writing: Use the answers for Q3 and Q4 ( How does the writer use x and evaluate) to support you. Examiners want you to use words from the extract to get a grade 9 !
Hope it helps and bear in mind this was from last year's advice my teacher gave me

Hi! I'm studying for GCSE English language and I have no idea how to study. I have done a few past papers but I don't know exactly what I need to be able to do.

1.

Get the correct learnings: watch youtubers like Mr Salles or Mr Everything

2.

Make flashcards to retain information

3.

Don't practie at the last minute and don't do only the predicted questions! This is guaranteed failure imo. Practice all past mock exams !

4.

Practice regularly! Don't just read about it, but do it, write every week an essay and get your mark and feedback to see how you improve! That's the only way to actually learn and feel confident on exam day. You can either get a private tutor for this or use Tilf website - it's cheaper and accurate for the mark and feedback

I hope this helps!
