AQA History NEA topic

I’m currently starting my AQA A-Level history NEA. At my college we have freedom to choose whatever topic we want, but I’m struggling with the necessary 80-120 year time period. I’d like to write about the Cold War and the Korean War in particular, but of course neither of these events lasted 80 years, so I’m confused how I can write an essay question with a time period so long.
Any advice would be great please!

could you do something about the cause/build up to the conflict? for my history a level we did the build up to world war one but also could talk about how other events like the crimean war affected international relations

Thanks for the idea, I was thinking along those lines with the affects of the rise of Korean nationalism during the Japanese occupation, but there isn’t much relevant information on this and couldn’t find any decent interpretations. I think I’ve come up with a new question now if it gets approved, thank you!
