Am I disadvantaged for Summer internship applications?

Hi, I’m looking to apply to penultimate year summer internships this autumn, however I am worried as I didn’t do any spring weeks or summer internships in my first year and thus I have no prior experience in the finance industry. While I am looking to go into actuarial graduate roles I wouldn’t mind an internship anywhere in the financial sector to build general experience for an actuarial role (not really aiming for IB). I did average a first at LSE in my first year, I also am active in student roles and I do have volunteering experience, however this would not be directly relevant to the financial sector (but did arguably develop relevant skills)

I am therefore wondering if my lack of spring weeks/internships thus far will disadvantage me in any way in this year’s application process. And if so, is there any experience I can pick up in the next few weeks, especially job simulations/virtual experience. Are there any particular job simulations you would recommend (that would provide a good introduction to the financial sector/skills and are affordable/free).
