Is third year too late to make friends?

So I'm going into third year at uni after taking a year off and I have made no friends. I'm pretty socially anxious, and I've not really done any uni stuff apart from work.

I'm pretty ******* lonely. All my friends from highschool went somewhere else, so I've not really got any friends.

Is third year too late? I feel too old to make friends with uni students since I'm 23. Plus I live with my parents still so I feel pretty *****y.

Hi! I’m not in uni but I know it’s never too late to make friends. I also deal with anxiety so I know what it feels like. Just try your best and to help you can join society or clubs to make friends!!!

It not too late. Join a new society that you fancy the thought of and meet some like minded folk

Never too late to make friends. I didn't really start making good friends until I was in my 20s. Definitely join some societies or clubs, volunteer for a charity or just meet people from your classes. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation with someone and asking if they've joined a society, want to join one, want to go for a drink after class/at the weekend etc - that might sound really patronising, but for me I always found making the first step with people really daunting. No need to be anxious, everyone is at the start of a new year. Best of luck.
You're going to be making friends continually throughout your life. Why would now be an issue?
