college vs sixth form

hi i’ve recently been enrolled in a sixth form which produces amazing grades, however i am not sure this path is for me. only being there 3 days, i have not enjoyed the environment and structure, and feel being held by the hand by the teachers will not help me be prepared for the “real world”. i have heard a lot of good things about my local college (from online and friends who go there) and just want to know if i’m making the right decision in switching school.

i am not a very academic person, i enjoy art and creative media fashion etc. but i enjoy crime investigation and was planning on doing something in the crime field for uni.

is it too early to tell if i don’t like it? should i feel guilty about moving from a 6th form to a college?

It’s totally okay to feel uncertain after just three days. It might be too early to tell if sixth form isn’t right for you, but if you already have doubts, trust your instincts. Life is too short to stick with something that doesn’t feel right.
I’m actually starting college on Tuesday, and I don’t regret choosing it because I’ll have more independence and learn to stand on my own before uni. Both sixth form and college have their pros and cons. Maybe try writing them down to see which path feels right for you.
Don’t feel guilty about moving from sixth form to college if it’s what you think will make you happier and suit your interests more. Remember, do what feels best for you!

thank for for your thoughts  the sixth form i’m currently attending is way more stricter compared to the sixth form that was attached to my school, and i’m not sure how i feel about that. i’m hoping to ask my local college about a course to see if it’s right for me ☺️
