Hi everyone, I want to study software engineering and I'm considering both degree apprenticeships and university, uni being a backup plan. I do computing at A Level. I am worried about my GCSE maths grade as many uni courses require you to have a grade 5 or 6 and I only got a 4. Would you say that it matters or not, or should I consider resitting?

It matters. You should consider resitting. The easiest route to a rejection is not meeting the GCSE requirements, which are not normally flexible.
