What should I tell the interviewer

Basically I got a full time summer job that lasts from the 9th to the 23rd. However I also have a Co-op interview on the 11th. Since the Co-op position is a permanent role, that position has a much higher priority than the temporary summer job

During the interview should I just tell the Co-op employer I can start ASAP and ditch the temporary summer job if I get the position? Or should I be straightforward and tell them I start at the 23rd, which could potentially put the employer off a bit

Keep in mind I already completed the payroll, documents etc for the summer temp, however I also wrote in the Co-op application I can start ASAP. So not sure what to do lol

Thanks yall

I would just ask them when do they want you to start working with co-op and then just give your temporary summer job notice that you will not be working with them after xx day ( they might ask for you to do a week minimum notice period) but you can just give them a letter stating as from xx date/day you will no longer be a employee of this job.

Yeah I would probably take the permanent job over a temporary job contract.

Don't worry that you provide everything to your temporary summer job employer as you haven't yet started working with them plus they will be used to people coming and going all the time.
Why don't you start your temporary summer job on Monday 9th and when you had your co-op interview on Wednesday 11th September you'll know the outcome of it and if you are successful with the co-op interview and get offered a permanent job contract with them then you'll have to arrange a start date with them anyway so you might as well earn some money until you know that you have got the co-op job as you don't yet have it until you know the outcome of your interview.

If you are offered it then just give your temporary summer job notice that you are leaving due to getting a permanent job elsewhere 😕.

Good luck with your co-op interview and also starting with your temporary summer job until further notice.

You are welcome 🤗 🤗 🤗

Hopefully you'll sort it out once you have a response back from the co-op after the interview......
Don't give up on finding a permanent job if you don't get the co-op job ok.
