Help please

Hi,
Anyone know how I could do Biology, chemistry and maths A-level? I can't afford to do it privately. Or, are there any alternatives to A-levels that I could do if I want to study medicine at university? I'm currently waiting on a college to get back to me on whether or not I could do A-levels with them but if they say no, what are my options? I'm 18 btw and I've never sat A-level exams before.

Have you considered an Access Module and then CertHE? The Open University offers Access Modules that you can take for free if you qualift (qualifying for it is not difficult). I did this and enjoyed it. You can then do a Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) with the Open University, it is the equivalent of the first year of a degee, and choose moduels around medicine. They have a great selection of modules. You'd have to apply for a student finance loan to do the CertHE. I'm doing this path and I love it, if you are willing to work hard then anything is possible and the wonderful Open Uni is super helpfull! Hope this helps

An Access course is enough - the CertHE isn't needed

For some universities it is enough, however, some universities will require it do be in a certain subject, with a certain amount of credits, many universities require 30 credits with a Distinction and 15 credits with a Merit, the CertHE also makes you a stronger candidate and would make studies easier as the difficulty of the matierial in the first year would be somewhat similar, depending on what university subject is studied. The OU Access Module is 30 credits, 80% grade for a Distinction and 40% for a pass.
