YouTube history not updating

I don’t know what to do, anyone know? I have deleted app, deleted watch history, tried to update app, removed my account etc, and it still doesn’t work. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks

Have you checked to see if it is paused?

Yes, it was on. I even turned it off, left it for a few hours before turning it back on, and there are still no changes. It’s even happening to multiple of my accounts…

Go to Google's MyActivity and see if it's recorded there. Feedback to me.

Hi, so it has my search history on YouTube but not what I have watched (apart from some adverts I think)

Okay. On that page there should be a section called YouTube History. Check if the "Include the YouTube videos that you watch" sub setting is on

I’m not really sure, possibly, however if I did, it would’ve already have been in use a while before this happened - works on Mobile Data… how would I go about fixing this?

Strange...

I know this is tedious, but have you tried using a different browser? Also, have you tried rebooting your router?

Hi, yes it works in a browser i.e. Chrome, on WiFi, so it just seems to be the YouTube app. Have just checked and it still doesn’t work… has been a few days now… also I believe the router has been rebooted, and the problem is still there. Btw forgot to say, thanks for trying to help sort this out, sorry if it is a pain, I’m not really good with this sort of thing 😅

Hoping this is Android. Can you force stop the app and then clear the cache?

What's your iOS version? Do you have updates which you haven't installed?

Could you ask somebody technically proficient at home if they're using something called 'Pi-hole?'. I've had a search online and some users reported that was their issue.

If not, that might be the end of the road as other users have said they're still having issues or it just started working for them. :frown:

Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

Hi, terribly sorry for not replying sooner. Yes, that seemed to be the issue, thank you very much for suggesting this (I wouldn’t have even made a connection between my problem and someone else’s project!) Hope you have a great day, thanks again!
