Transferring courses I reapplying during first year at uni

Hi!

I'm about to start a course at imperial college for biochemistry, however my heart isn't set on it. I'm thinking about reapplying through UCAS for a bioengineering course (like to apply to Cambridge, imperial, etc.). However, to meet the minimum entry requirements, id need to retake maths a level this year. Would this be very difficult? I’ve heard the biochem course at imperial is slightly less demanding than other courses so I’m thinking this is possible with good time management.
Any help would be appreciated!

Never, ever start any Uni degree that you do not actually want to do.

Phone Imperial on Monday and ask about a transfer now.
If its a No, then take a gap year and reapply for the course you do want to do.

Take a gap year, retake and reapply. It will be a waste of money and does not maximise your chances of successs. No course at Imperial is undemanding.Concentrate on your Maths A level.
