Thank you for this. I understand why someone would want to do this now. And I do appreciate help I've been given by older tsr users. I feel like my OP was a bit accusatory, I really just wanted to know why adult users decide to come on.
Assuming you had a child on tsr who was 18/19, would you see any problems with them chatting to someone your age (for arguments' sake pretend it's late 40s). About things friends would chat about?

When I was 15/16 on here I had a few friends in their early 20s, few publicize their age on here so never really found out one anothers age until we had already struck up some sort of connection. One of them I still talk to regularly, only maybe 2 ended up being major freaky creeps. It was very clear when the weirdos started to show their colors and that was quickly resolved with the report to the mods and a block.

I wouldn't outright ban my future kids from talking to older people online past the age of 16/17 but definitely would teach them about appropriate vs inappropriate interactions and make sure they knew how to handle those situations. That's kind of the only spot where they could get harmed.

i didn't know that until recently 😅 but thank you; i'll keep that in mind from now on
Really depends on their reasons for being on here & the kind of content they're posting. For me personally I've had an account on here since about 2010 & have gone through phases of being a regular user & hardly been on here at all. I can go for months without posting but every so often & I'll browse the forum & see a few things that catch my interest and/ or I can give advice on. The last time I was really on here regularly was around 2020/21 when I was spending more time online in general for obvious reasons.
I quite like it when parents post
