a-levels medicine

hiii,
I want to do medicine at uni, ive been able to pick chemistry and biology, however I am indecisive about my third option, I am confused on wether I should pick psychology or sociology, and if med school would even accept sociology?
I do think psychology is quite hard but if that's better I would pick it.
what do you guys think I should do?
Thank you!!!!!...

Either is fine. The only medical schools that care about your third subject are:

Cambridge - without physics or maths as a third subject you are statistically non-competitive
UCLan and Liverpool - just require the third subject be "academic", which both sociology and psychology are (basically anything that isn't vocational/applied/a creative/performing arts subject would be fine for them).

Just take the subject you think is more interesting and/or you are more confident in getting an A or A* in, medical schools (aside from Cambridge as above) won't care.

Hi, I do psychology. I know that both are heavily content based. I feel psych isn’t hard until you get a grasp on how to revise for it. I can’t say much about sociology as I do not do it. However, some unis do consider psychology as an ‘alternative science’. At the end of the day I would say look at the spec see what you think you will enjoy more and sit that as it won’t matter too much because you already have Biology and Chemistry.
I did GCSE psychology and my grade unfortunately wasn't the highest, but I am still able to pick it.
do you think if I pick sociology id be limited to unis?
thank you!!

Not really third choice doesn’t matter as much as long as you have 2 sciences which you already do.

Hi there! It really depends on what uni you want to go to, but a lot of them don’t really care. I have a friend going to uni of Birmingham for medicine with a third a level in maths and another friend on her third year of medicine at uni of Nottingham with a third a level in philosophy. If you aren’t planning on applying to oxbridge, pretty much all top unis will accept you with any third a level. Just make sure its an a level you know you can excel in and get and A/A* in. I took psychology and STEM and found psychology was very content heavy. It was pretty easy stuff but it was hard to memorise along with all the stuff from the science subjects i took. I didnt take sociology, but a lot of my friends that do say its much more enjoyable and a lot of my friends that take both say that sociology is far easier to handle than psychology.
