swimming at uni
Hi i’m a competitive swimmer and am looking for (russell group) unis that have a good swimming culture. does anyone know any in particular that are known for being big on swimming as a sport?

Hi! One of my friends is a swimmer and I've heard good things about swimming at Lancaster. Lancaster's technically not a Russel Group uni, but its a top 10 uni and very competitive.

Why not Loughborough/Bath. Yes they're not RG but does that really matter?

Hi Anon,
Lancaster is quite big on sport and have a large swimming society (@luswp on instagram) which is very competitive. Lancaster competes in a large annual sports competition called Roses with York uni, which is a highlight of the year and allows sports teams to compete against each other including swimming, which is a great event to get involved in during your time at university.
Whilst Lancaster is not Russel group it consistently ranks highly, so might be worth considering. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
