In my experience work experience no matter its format looks good on CVs and may help you get into university if it links to your personal statement. Whether it's a good idea depends on how relevant the work experience is for showcasing a skill you want to show to universities or whether it links to your university degree or future career. I recently undertook a virtual placement and gained a lot from it, so it just depends what you will learn from it. Some work experience is only really helpful if you attend in person, so it can be quite varied, but most jobs these days do have a virtual element or hybrid options, so it shouldn't hold you back.

I would say so, again its the same thing, it depends on whether the courses help you develop relevant skills or learn further based on your degree or career path. Either way it shows you are dedicated and hard working.
