Finance and mathematics/ accounting

Hi I’m currently on s6 and was predicted AAAAA in highers but achieved ABCCC which I’m certain is wrong and have since appealed.

I was wondering if I would still stand a chance to apply for universities like Glasgow uni and Edinburgh uni for accounting and finance or maths considering my C was in maths, English and biology.

This year I’m taking Advanced higher maths, advanced higher accounting, higher admin, higher computing science

I am predicted an A in all of these subjects with mathematics at 100% the rest at A1 predictions.

If I maintain these predictions with a strong personal statement ( I have 6 banking work experience and 2 year volunteering) would I still stand a chance to apply for these uni considering I don’t meet s5 minimum?

I am an md40 candidate and get adjusted grades and I’m wondering if I still stand a chance of applying if I keep these high predictions and if my appeal don’t come back sucessful

All I’m looking for is just a conditional offer but I am unsure if it will even be possible for me if these appeals don’t get fixed

I'd email. But I know glasgow are Very strict when it comes the higher grades.
You wouldn't be eligible for Edin as they want BBB by the end of S5.
I'd look at unis like Dundee, Aberdeen, heriot watt as they tend to be more lenient towards S5 grades.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account, just replying as we were mentioned above in the thread. I know it sometimes feels like a difficult thing to do but in these circumstances I would recommend getting in contact with the universities you're interested in studying at. We are just looking for the qualifications to be achieved over two sittings and many other universities judge S5 and S6 together like this but admissions policies differ and the best way to get a clear picture of what Edinburgh and Glasgow are looking at would be to get in contact directly I'd say.
I hope this helps and all the best with your S6 studies!

Hi thanks for the reply,

Seeing as your an Aberdeen rep would it be possible if I could ask some questions?

I was considering doing the uni of Aberdeen access course in English level 6 if my appeal doesn’t get fixed and hopefully get it to an A as required. Would this count as an A in higher English for Glasgow Edinburgh strathclyde and at andrews uni?

Thanks for your time

You certainly can ask me some questions! So this qualification is recognised by most universities in Scotland but it's sort of up to each university how they would judge it. I realise this makes things a bit of a faff for you but if you do decide that taking this is the best option then I would encourage you to get in contact with each of the university's in order to see if they will accept it. To my knowledge it's accepted by all but maybe one or two universities in Scotland but how they look at it may change year on year. Sorry I can't get you a more concrete answer but if you have more questions about this course let me know!
