Those who got into med school with a low UCAT score, which ones did you apply to?

Got 999 999, 8888, 7 at GCSE, AAA predicted grades (biology, chemistry, maths). I got an "average" UCAT score of 2420 Band 2, for 2025 entry.

I revised a LOTTT for my UCAT, I got really unlucky with a horrendous set of questions (I found them much more difficult than medify), I have so many questions as to how I got so much lower in UCAT. I've done absolutely everything- EVERYTHING- for it, but I guess a high UCAT score just wasn't meant to happen.

I want to know which med schools did you get an interview and successful offer from, with a lower UCAT score? applying strategically is definitely the aim

I am so sorry after all that hard work it must be so disheartening, I also do not have the UCAT score I wanted as it is 'average' after putting months of preparation into it I got stuck with really challenging questions especially on DM it's so unfair how it is down to luck. What I have been advised to do is apply to uni's that take a holistic approach and place alot of emphasis on the grades and personal statement I have been told aberdeen uni is a good option, keele, sunderland those kind of places just make sure personal statement and grades r as strong as possible and u should have a good chance cause UCAT only forms like 20% in all these, I've been told be my teachers no medical student is perfect so it's ok to have a weaker part of the application 🙂 best of luck routing for u to get into medicine.

aww, yeah, it's so unfortunate it is based on luck as well. i found DM in the real one much harder too. i've heard those unis are good for this situation, and i guess i just have to look quite carefully to how they prioritise the ucat score. thanks for replying, best of luck for both of us xx
