Biomed as a fifth choice at UCL personal statement? - university application 2025

I'm currently in year 13 and will be applying for medicine in October this year, I'm definitely applying for the four medical schools of my choice (not including UCL here) but for my fifth option I'd like to study biomed at UCL. I know this might sound like a risky fifth choice but I'm curious if I could get in - I'm mostly fixated on medicine and will most likely take a gap year if I didn't get any medical offers but the only way I would consider doing biomed instead of medicine would be if I got an offer from UCL really. I'm just not sure what their requirement for personal statements are because I know some universities recognise medical students who are applying for biomed with them and understand their situation hence won't require a specific separate personal statement for biomed and will just take the PS written for medicine. I don't quite know where to find this information on actual university websites and only really heard a few examples from my teacher at school but I was curious whether UCL will require a separate personal statement for biomed specifically or whether they will be happy just taking my PS for medicine.

I applied for biomed at UCL as my 5th choice, I got rejected in April after getting into Cambridge med (and 3 other medschools) because my application was not strong enough apparently haha. I think this is bc competition is so stiff already for people who actually want to do biomed there, hence they will not give offers to anyone wanting to do medicine.

Oh right, that makes sense actually plus since I'm not interested in biomed at all I think it would've been hard to write a PS for it anyway 😅 but thanks for the reply!
