Choosing A-Levels

Choosing alevels i haven’t decided that goes with the two i am certain on. I’ve picked Biology and psychology and need a third option for a psychology degree. I’d want to pick a subject that is still a respectable alevel but not another science or maths. Most universities entry requirements for a psychology course only require 2 out of your alevels to be a required subject ie maths, sciences and psychology which i have met. Was thinking maybe sociology, as it goes well with the other two and is still respectable but id love to hear other people’s thoughts

Take a subject which you think you’ll enjoy and be able to do well in.
How you could do this:

Make a list of all the subjects your school offers you

Cross off the ones you dont or wont likely meet the requirements for

Cross off the ones you don’t like from past experience of the subject

For all other subjects look through the spec and watch some videos on YouTube made by students who’ve taken the subject sharing their experience

Cross off the ones that dont appeal to you

You should be left with a few or maybe one! If you’ve got a few, make a pros and cons list

Hi, i'm planning on applying to cambridge for psych and I can safely say that maths, bio and psychology is the BEST a-level combination. I take bio history psych which is good, but having maths makes you a stronger applicant, so I would definately recommend. however if you odn't think you would achieve well then just go for something you enjoy, you can't really go wrong if you are already doing bio and psych. doing a 'harder' a-level e.g. history/english lit/ another science may also be helpful
