GCSE PE

I am in year 10 and i chose gcse PE as one of my options. I have chosen netball and tennis as two of my three sports. I dont know what to take as my last one. Are there any sports that are easy to do well in and get high marks? And how hard is it to get a 9 if i dont play at a national level but i play at a good level.

I did OCR which is a little different but very similar. I got a grade 9 last year so my grade boundaries will be very similar to what yours will be. I did cross country, netball and dance. For cross country I do it competitively and I’ve done a few national competitions and for netball I went to the school lunch club (but I never made the school team). But for my third sport dance I didn’t even attend a club, never mind compete. What I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to be at a national standard in all of the sports to get a grade 9, the theory side is definitely more important and just submit as much evidence as you can and do your coursework.
In terms of a third sport, have a discussion with your PE teacher. In terms of options, lots of people I know who did tennis also did badminton which is fairly similar as they’re both raquet sports. Athletics is also a very common option for a third sport, as is football and swimming. Don’t focus too much on the third sport being as good as your other two, just make sure it isn’t too low that it’ll bring you down too much. You’ve got some time to decide yet so don’t worry too much, but once you pick one try to do it as regularly as you can in school if you’re able to.
Good luck and I really hope this helped a bit

Thank you so so much! I can't tell you how helpful that was 😀
Also just one more question if I play above average (nothing VERY competitive) but if I do extremely well in theory is it possible to still achieve a Grade 9? I am just worried I made the wrong choice thinking I was sporty enough 😅.
But thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it gave me a lot of clarity on what to chose as my last sport!

You’re welcome! I would definitely say it’s possible, just make sure you learn the content for the papers to the best of your ability and do lots of past paper questions closer to the exams. And don’t be afraid to ask your teacher to check over your coursework before you formally submit anything just in case you’ve missed something out.
