Personal Statement for a different course at Cambridge

Hi. I'm applying for a modern languages degree at Cambridge (Spanish and German) and Spanish and Management at Bath and some other places. I'm really worried about what to write on my personal statement. If I say why I want to study management will Cambridge reject me? But if I don't include that and also mention German will Bath etc will reject me?
Cambridge has an optional additional personal statement in the MyCambridge Form which you can write extra stuff just specific to Cambridge in - so you can discuss your interest in German in combination with Spanish there and just discuss Spanish things more generally in your UCAS personal statement

Although is there a reason you're not applying to Spanish and German elsewhere? I would've thought it was a pretty common combination?

Thanks. It's because Spanish is the subject I'm most passionate about, and I need to combine that with another language at Cambridge and I also like German. If I was going to another uni I'd like to combine Spanish with Business/ Management which isn't an option at Cambridge

You could in principle do management studies as your part II (third year) at Cambridge. However if you are principally interested in Spanish, you may also want to consider Oxford as an alternative which does allow you to study Spanish as a single language? The Oxford course is very literature heavy however (more so than even the Cambridge course) so this may or may not appeal.

In any event as you have the additional statement for Cambridge if you do apply there I would suggest just write your personal statement on Spanish and then write about your German interests in the additional statement for Cambridge. As for the management/business side it's may be sufficient to just discuss this in the context of Spanish and be suitably relevant for both. In any event I gather typically Cambridge (and Oxford) put a bit less emphasis on the PS than other unis as they have submitted work, admissions assessments, and interviews to also go on. So I wouldn't worry about it too much either way
