Is Falmouth uni too isolated

I currently have a deferd place to study fashion photography at Falmouth however I’m reconsidering does anyone at Falmouth find the uni too small and isolating . I don’t live in a big city so that is not the issue just wondering how small it feels as a student

Hiya,

I'm a current student at Falmouth, so I thought I would answer your question to the best of my ability!

I definitely think that, at times, you can feel quite isolated in the sense that if your hometown isn't near Falmouth, you're a long way away from your family and friends at home & at other universities.

However, Falmouth's large student population fosters a strong sense of community, ensuring you won't feel isolated. You'll quickly make friends and feel at home.

While Falmouth may not have a vast nightlife scene, it offers a variety of social opportunities. There's something for everyone, from cosy pubs to a few small clubs.
I find the pub scene more enjoyable than clubbing, and the presence of a few small clubs is enough to keep me entertained.

It's absolutely different from living in a big uni city like Bristol for example, considering Falmouth town is only really one high street. Still, you can easily get to Truro, which is a bit larger, by train or bus.

Going to uni by the beach is such an amazing thing that Falmouth offers, and you won't get at many other unis. - It's worth thinking about if this is something you would appreciate or enjoy

If you've got a deferred place for next year, I suggest not stressing too much; you've got lots of time to consider other options compared to Falmouth before making a final decision.
