National Detective Programme 2025

Can't believe I'm using TSR after 2 years but just wondered if anyone go their formal offer yet from Police Now and if they accepted it?

No formal offer yet, what branch did you apply for?

Are you accepting? I heard a couple of people have had issues with certain branches. Like GM or Met

I've said this before. This is the problem with Police Now. It's a third party organisation and you aren't guaranteed any particular force. I struggle to see any advantage PN has now. I think every force has a graduate programme of its own now, so there's no reason not to just join the one you want.

Other potential issues are:

Shorter training
You don't don't get paid for some of the training
On the uniformed programme, you go directly to Neighbourhoods. Whilst this can be an amazingly good role, it does mean you miss out on key policing skills and experience that are quite hard to pick up later on.

The only advantage I can come up with is that on the detective course, the NIE gets done very early so its out of the way.

Well I want to but I am hearing that theres pros and cos of Police Now scheme so I'm gonna weigh everything up first. I applied for West Midlands branch. As for the force, I could've applied to West Yorkshire (yorkshire based) but there were specific ones.
