Am I able to get into a russel group with these grades?
Hello am I abit worried because of my GCSEs grades and if they’re gonna hold me back.i faced a lot of issues in year 11,my mom got hospitalised so i really did not care about education during exam session i faced a lot of mental issues and did stuff i regret
I am predicted to get D* D D in engineering (152 UCAS points )
However I only got a 5 in maths a 4 in English language and a 4 in bio (the rest are 3s and below )im confident that if I resit physics chemistry gcses exam aqa privately I will pass the exams but they aren’t able to resit in November however if I do it in 2025 my results will come in August and I don’t think I can apply with them .i don’t know because none in my family went to university.

Why do you specifically want to go to a Russel Group university? You do know they are no better than any other universities and employers are more interested in you than which university you went to right? Also, many of the non-Russel Group universities have invested heavily in quality of teaching and student support whilst Russel Group universities have excellent marketing departments purveying the myth that there is some sort of prestige around studying there. Few companies care for the colour of your tie. Go to a university you can succeed in. That is actually most universities.

Yh I wanted to go to Brunel but if I’m studying engineering wouldn’t my uni kinda matter since it’s competitive.
But the thing I really want is a degree apprenticeship I’m doing a project right now for my cv .
I see that the hunt for the Russell Group's missing l continues.
