LSBU 2025 start - tell me all about it!!!

Hi!
I am starting at LSBU in September 2025, a 3-year degree course in the creative field.
I am so curious to hear all about it - the good, the bad and the ugly!
I’ve trawled through websites and social medias but am keen to hear first hand from any current or graduate students what its like.

Accommodation, location, people, teachers, facilities, etc. I want to hear all about it!

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

That’s so exciting, and congrats on starting at LSBU in September!

The location is honestly one of the best parts. The Southwark campus is right in central London, close to the South Bank, Tate Modern, and loads of creative spaces. It's such an inspiring area, especially for creative students, and it's really well connected by public transport https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/why-choose-lsbu/location

Accommodation - most first years go into halls like McLaren House or Dante Road, both within walking distance. They are sociable, safe, and a great way to meet people from all courses https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/information-for-applicants-and-offer-holders/accommodation-and-social-life

Facilities for creative subjects are really impressive. You’ll have access to modern studios, Mac suites, editing labs, and equipment that’s industry-standard. Elephant Studios is a standout space and definitely a highlight for creative students https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/student-life/facilities

The people here are one of my favourite parts. The community is diverse, friendly, and open-minded and you’ll meet people from all walks of life, which creates a really creative and inclusive vibe. The lecturers and staff are supportive and experienced, many with real industry backgrounds. They’re approachable, give honest feedback, and genuinely want you to grow in your work.

I think you’ll love it here! Let me know if you have any further questions.
