once a week (or more if you want), do an essay. take a question from a past paper/chat gpt may suggest, on the book/play you are doing for lit. If you are doing a question from a past paper, look over the examiner report (V. IMPORTANT as this will help you see what other people missed when doing the question, what the examiners were looking for) and the answers. For language I would just print out a blank, unannotated poem and annotate as much as possible. once you are finished, look back at your annotated version and you can make flashcards from what you missed/note down what you missed and next time go over these first. youtube is also really helpful for analysis and how to get the grade 9's.

for poem analysis we do this thing called VISIT- Vocabulary, Imagery, Structure, Intention, Tone.
basically go thru the poem, pick out a couple of key words that link together that you find interesting (it helps to try and make sense of those poems that seem like absolute nonsense when you first read them).

then, for imagery, pick out different language features such as similes, metaphors, oxymorons etc. once youve picked these out, see how they fit into the message of the poem, and what the poet is trying to say through these things

structure is always important to include (as it costs marks if u dont put it in), so comment on things such as the stanza length or arrangement, whether there is rhyming etc, and see again if the poet is trying to convey a message through their choices of structure

intention is focusing on why the poet wrote this (basically combining all of the connotations youve found throughout the poem and combining it into a summary). the tone is how it is written, my eng teachers helps us with this by saying, if this poem was a party/conversation, what would the mood be? happy/sad/angry/regretful/bitter etc. intention and tone can be used for a conclusion

not too sure on how to help with writing, but if u need any help with stuff js lmk id be happy to

Hey, i know someone that made flashcards with the quotes but she had blank words/phrases throughout the quote and the missing words were on the back, she got an 8 in english lit and said this helped so much.

Also for creative writing i would strongly recommend improving your vocabulary and using lots of different grammar techniques, id also recommend you to describe the picture instead of a story i feel you are able to go into so much more detail about specific objects/people which gets you higher marks in the real exams- for reference i got an 8 in english language and 34/40 in my creative writing
