Applying to medical school

Hi,

I am a year 13 student studying biology, chemistry, and maths. Unfortunately my AS level exams did not go well and I will be predicted AAB instead of AAA. With a high UCAT score (I am sitting the exam in one week but practise is going well), is there any possibility of me getting an interview from a medical school? I will be applying to Cardiff, St Georges, Plymouth and unsure on the fourth, but I don't mind where I go so please recommend any alternate med schools that would be worth applying to. For reference I have 10 A*s and 1 A at GCSE (the A in welsh second language).

Thanks!

Try posting here once you have your UCAT: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7312527
Generally (unless you are contextual/WP) medical schools will expect predicted grades matching their grade requirements (usually AAA). Bear in mind that medicine is very competitive, and there will be more than enough applicants to choose from with predicted grades AAA and above. Worth talking to your teachers to discuss how you might go about achieving an A and see if they might be able to change your predicted grade.

hi, does your school offer AS resits to “upgrade” your grade? if you’re unsure, i’d recommend asking your teachers that

You can also check out KMMS as the website says their minimum a level requirements are AAB
