Transferring between BEng and MEng

I am currently a second year engineering student in a UK university. My first and second year average mark is below 55 therefore not eligible for a MEng. The regulation already stated whether or not you are allowed into the fourth year depends on the second year result. However, if there is significant improvement in my grades in the third year, is there any possibility that they will let me get into MEng?

Only your Uni can decide that. You need to talk to your tutors and see what they say. Even if they won't, if you improve your grades and graduate with a 2.1 you can do a standalone Masters anywhere you like.

The problem you’ll probably face is that the courses will have greater divergence in year 3, there are more requirements for an MEng versus BEng and these generally start to affect modules & structure.

However what will be an option is a postgraduate master’s, if you get a 2.1 you will most likely be able to apply for an MSc 1 year masters (beng + msc is equivalent to an meng), although you may have to move university.
