Bad nat 5 score, can I do higher chemistry?

I got a D in my nat 5 chemistry and was thinking if I highers will be an issue. Last year I suffered quite a lot from social anxiety so my whole exam scores were really off.
The course I’ve recently been liking, needs higher chemistry. And I was wondering if I can pull it off. I haven’t spoken to teachers yet and the school year has already started.

I'd suggest retaking N5 and potentially get an A, then do Higher as an S6.
The chance of u passing Higher chem after getting a D is very low, so retaking might be ur best bet.
Best of luck 🙂

you could attempt it, I got an A in Higher Chem this year.
All u need is to use JAB chems flashlights, memorise the course spec, and do past papers all the way back to the 90's and youll likely get atleast a B
lmk if u need anymore help

Honestly maybe? Generally Nat 5s dont really matter but they do expect you to take some knowledge from Nat 5 into higher. Just depends if you can handle the workload since it is a pretty difficult course. It’s not impossible though, since i got 52% in my prelim and an A in the exam xx
