Hi I’m a new yr 12 student taking Biology Chemistry and Maths and interested in pursuing Medicine. I took A level Arabic in Yr10 as it is my first language and got an A in it . I have only just realised that this may not count as I took it very early. If anyone knows if universities accept and recognise this grade can u please let me know .

Different universities have different policies. So you need to check the individual policies of your target universities. For example:

University of Birmingham need three A levels which "must normally be taken in the final year of secondary school", so are likely ignore your Arabic A level.

University of Leicester require three A levels, but say "If you have taken four full A-levels (not including overlapping subjects such as Maths and Further Maths), we can also give an alternate offer of AAAB. In this case, all A-levels must be completed in Year 12 or 13." So they would ignore the Arabic A level too. Even if it had been taken in Year 12 or 13, it wouldn't have counted as a full A level as they say, "If one of the four A-levels is a language subject other than English of which the candidate is a home or native speaker, we would require AAA in the three remaining A-levels." (Note that their standard offer is A*AA.)

University of Oxford would also ignore it as they require, "A*AA in three A-levels (excluding Critical Thinking and General Studies) taken in one academic year."

University of Manchester don't say they'd ignore it, but again they only need three A levels and say, "If you have studied an advanced curriculum, where the examinations are spread over three years, please contact the admissions office prior to submitting an application." Your A level qualifications will actuall be spread over four years.

So, you need to check with individual unis.
