Foundation year????

So I haven’t done so well in my A levels this year and so I’m planning on reapplying and retaking my a levels but I’m wondering if I can I apply to a foundation year while retaking my a levels or will I most likely be rejected

Hello @username6325003,

I'm sorry you didn't achieve the A-level results you hoped for. Have you considered whether your current A-level grades may already meet the criteria for some foundation year courses, because if they do, you wouldn't necessarily need to retake your A-levels, but the foundation year would help you to prepare for the course you wish to take.

Hope this helps you.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear, that you didn't achieve the results you wanted on results day. Like the BCU Student Rep has mentioned, you may already hold enough UCAS points to do a foundation course. Normally after completing a foundation course, you will be able to apply for the 3 year undergraduate course. Do you know how many UCAS points you have?

I have linked below the UCAS points calculator and foundation year course available at York St John University.

Calculate your UCAS Tariff points | Undergraduate, Conservatoires | UCAS

Good Luck
