What was the point of my ex even texting me if he was just going to be cold ?

So about a month ago I decided to block my ex on instagram after he ended up confessing he still had feelings for me. I decided to block him because he asked me out to dinner and then went silent. He basically ghosted me before the date after asking me on it. So I decided to block him I found out after I blocked him he blocked me right back. A month goes by and he unblocks me, I unblock him then he started viewing my socials even tho we didn't follow each other. He then proceeded to reach out. These were are messages.

Him- why did you block me?

Me- because that was wrong

Him- Don’t act like you didn’t want to.. and wym feeling myself? You buggin lol that was close to the time when I was going out of town and they scheduled me 6 days and I ended up working 7 in a row that Thursday happened to be my 7th day they asked can I come in I was ****ed af I wasn’t on my phone the entire day. I went to text you I believe Saturday to apologize and explain the situation but you had blocked me so chill.

Me -your on a high horse and just wanted your ego boosted

Him- I’m not on no high horse I’m just saying. That’s what YOU think I’m thinking but it’s not the case lol but it wasn’t on purpose or anything I just had a long week that week and I could’ve reached out sooner thats on me but when I did go to reach out I was blocked

Me- well then why did you block me back after I blocked you

Him- Cause you had me fu**d up so I blocked back. And as far as stalking your page is wild I viewed a single story nor am I playing little games but you got it I was just curious to why you blocked me I won’t bother you anymore

Me- I feel like you played with me

Him- How did I play with your feelings? And how did I get an ego boost when I said I still had feelings for you at the time? Don’t make sense to me

Him- An ego boost to what exactly!? I didn’t have an ego from none of that to begin with idk but I’m sorry if you felt I played with your feelings wasn’t my intentions and once again I won’t bother you anymore. Take care.

Him- You talkin bout the first time we hung out after all that or the very last time we did? Bc when we went to lunch did I not say I still had feelings for you but don’t think it’s a good idea to be together? I’m confused

Me- so basically what I'm getting from this is all you wanted was to have sex with me, maybe hangout sometimes but not commit ?

Him- yup that's what your getting and that's what I said, I only wanted to be friends at most.

I know this is all over the place and doesn't make sense. Yet I'm just confused why he even reached out and texted me asking me why I blocked him. Also sending me paragraphs just for him to be cold and mean towards the end ? Any advice?

What else could you be doing with your time apart from messaging him? If it's something better; do that.
What else could you be doing with your mental capital apart from trying to figure out why her reached out to you? If it's something better; do that.

It's impossible to know for sure exactly what's been going through his heart and mind.
It does seem that there's an element if him wanting to show that he was in the right and you were in the wrong. Which is rather annoying and immature from him.

You don't owe him anything. You don't owe him any explanations. You don't have to justify yourself to him, and yet he's trying to assert the frame where you do justify yourself to him.

Given the context, you'd be within your rights to tell him to get lost. With you also telling him that you're fed up reading his negative messages.

This guy is still a kid, all his replies are pure ego, what ego he said. Everything he does in this conversation is pure ego.
If you want to be just friends it is fine, but you both should understand that you are just friends, if it is too hard for any of you just cut all the connections with him. Otherwise it will just hurt at least one of you .
This is my opinion .
