Compelling personal reasons

HI

I started uni, foundation year in 2020 which I failed due to mental health and depression and did a repeat year and passed in 2022 but during that year I had a suicide attempt and had to go to hospital. obviously, this was challenging for me mentally and it took me a while to recover psysically but longer mentally especially leading up to first year and got a note from my GP on how it was affecting my year and started my first year where I was still spiralling, I then decided to change my course to something I liked and was a dual however my funding was cut due to the previous years calculations and with my mental health and now having to fund my first year I decided to take a leave of absence. I came back the previous September and passed my first year and now going to my second year however wasn't informed that an LOA counted as a year of study so the calculations in 2023 were the standard 3 + 1 - 2 = 2 but now with my leave of absence I only have 1, I don't think I can fund this coming school year again so can I submit CPR I have my mental health records from all the way to A-LEVELS and had the hospital write a suicide summary and had my GP write how my mental health affected my school work however this was all before the start of my first year. I'm also going to write a cover letter but I'm not sure if they will base it on the academic year of the current year as the doctor's note was during the previous academic year but only by 5 months, so the attempt happened end on march going April of 2022 I got help during May and June and had my GP write about how my mental health was going to affect my personal life and school then the first year started. I don't know if this would be accepted, I do also have emails from my teacher sending me mental health support during the school year

Hi Mo, we can only advise on the evidence to send - as we're not assessor we can never confirm if the evidence will be sufficient. As long as the evidence isn't for a year of CPR that you've already applied for before then it will go to be reviewed. This is currently taking an estimated 31 working days. You'll be emailed confirming if you've been granted the extra year of funding once it's processed. Thanks, Jason
